Hunter, the second-most valuable player in the NFL this year, is on his way to becoming the most valuable player of the 2020 season.
Hunter, the first-overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft, is in the prime of his career and is expected to hit the market in the offseason.
The 29-year-old wideout, a second-year player out of Texas, will likely make an offer for the right to play in the National Football League, NFL Network’s Albert Breer reported on Monday.
Hunter and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, did not respond to requests for comment.
The Eagles, who have been linked to the wideout in the past, have been shopping him in recent weeks.
The Eagles, with a salary cap situation in place and a roster spot to spare, are not expected to be serious in their pursuit of Hunter, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract.
Hunter was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the second round of the 2017 draft, the sixth pick overall.
The Saints, who are also in a rebuilding mode, are looking to shed contracts and address their holes at wide receiver.
Hunter has recorded 3,749 receiving yards in his NFL career, tied for third in the league behind Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandin Cooks.
He is tied with Calvin Johnson and Dez Bryant for third on the Saints in receiving yards.
The 5-foot-10, 193-pound Hunter, a two-time Pro Bowl selection and NFL Offensive Player of the Year, has averaged 17.7 yards per catch and 13.8 yards per punt this season.
He also has 14 touchdown receptions in three seasons with the San Diego Chargers, but his best season came in 2015 with the Carolina Panthers, when he had 16 receptions for 244 yards and three touchdowns in six games.
